Join us for a Family Day drawing inspiration from the exhibition “Nari Ward: We the People” on view at the New Museum from February 13 to May 26, 2019. For the past twenty-five years, Ward’s sculptures have highlighted the material textures of Harlem. In his more recent work, he has turned to language and architecture as ways to reflect on memory and belonging. In celebration of Lower East Side History Month, families are invited to draw inspiration from Ward’s playfulness, reinterpreting signs of the Lower East Side and those in their own communities. Join us as we transform and find new meaning in the language we see daily in our neighborhoods.
