in partnership with over 50 community groups including LUNGS (Loisaida United Neighborhood Gardens – representing 48 Lower East Side Gardens), Two Bridges Neighborhood Council, GOLES, LES Ready!, NYC Community Garden District, Green Map, 4th Street Block Association, Loisaida Inc. Center, Lower East Side Girls Club, Lower East Side Ecology, Solar One, Waterfront Alliance, East River Park Coalition, East River Alliance, Friends of Corlears Hook Park, Greenwich Village Society of Historic Preservation, University Settlement (PS63), The Earth School (PS364), Sixth Street Community Center, Arts Loisaida, East Village Community Coalition, Educational Alliance, Museum of Reclaimed Urban Space, Times Up, MOS Collective, Gaia Institute, Theater for the New York City, Moving for Life/Studio 55C, Global Water Dances, One Brick, FABnyc, Hunter College-School of Community Organizing, The New School and NYU. Numerous groups and residents throughout the neighborhood are invited to join.

Earth Celebrations’ Ecological City: Procession for Climate Solutions, on Saturday May 11, 2019 from 11am-6pm is a 7-hour urban ecological pilgrimage to bring together and celebrate climate resiliency and ecological sustainability solutions throughout the community gardens, neighborhood and East River Park waterfront. 2019 features a timely affirmation of the community’s vision for the ESCR (East Side Coastal Resiliency) waterfront redevelopment plan on the Lower East Side with a 40-foot mobile mural. The procession of visual art, giant puppets and costume performers visits 20 sites including community gardens, neighborhood sustainability projects and East River Park waterfront with performances of dance, music, theater and poetry highlighting climate solution initiatives and the importance of the local effort to city and global climate challenges.
